James City County Police Station at Warhill

David Nice Builders continues to broaden its capabilities and the services it offers to its clients; to include the realm of Design Build and Sustainable Building.  In fact, David Nice Builders has been selected to design and build the James City County Police Department.

The building is anticipated to be 40,000 to 42,000 square foot and will meet the space and staffing needs of the Police Department over the next 25 years using environmentally responsible “green” design standards to meet the Silver certification level of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program of the United States Green Building Council.  These “green” measures will include a geothermal climate control system.  Both the building and the site will be designed with safety, security and the ability to withstand both manmade and natural disasters as paramount concerns for both the staff and the general public.

The new building will be located on the Warhill Site at 6400 Opportunity Way, Williamsburg, VA in central James City County near Route 199, Route 60 and Interstate 64. The project site is adjacent to Warhill High School and the future Historic Triangle campus of Thomas Nelson Community College.
